Our Campaign
I am running for the Congressional nomination for the 3rd District of Kentucky because it’s my home and with my family, Louisville is my place, my community, and the people I love.
As your representative in Congress:
• I’ll be proud of the effort to fight against indoctrination and the influence of socialism in schools and our society. I want to work with the right people to teach and show in the schools the reality of socialism in history and how much damage it has caused, and support parents in deciding the correct teaching of their children.
• I promise to rescue the love and appeal of the City of Louisville, uphold the laws, protect small businesses, encourage large investments, combat red tape and inefficiency of public employees, as well as pointless spending and high taxes.
• I’ll work to ensure that everyone has access to more career opportunities and resources available to help our city recover and move forward with the challenges ahead.
The pandemic has caused a lot of damage to our society. Most of us know someone who has been affected by the pandemic, including small businesses and the economy in general. I’ll work to keep those small businesses open so they can have their workers hired without having to fire them. I’m committed to working together with state and local authorities to ensure public safety, especially in schools.
I know this is the right way to make the future of our city truly prosperous for its citizens and its visitors. My campaign program proves, with my Christian and conservative principles, to be effective for families and the whole society.

Me postulo para la nominación del Congreso para el 3er Distrito de Kentucky porque es mi hogar y con mi familia, Louisville es mi lugar, mi comunidad y las personas que amo.
Como su representante en el Congreso:
• Estaré orgulloso del esfuerzo de luchar contra el adoctrinamiento y la influencia del socialismo en las escuelas y nuestra sociedad. Quiero trabajar con las personas adecuadas para enseñar y mostrar en las escuelas la realidad del socialismo en la historia y cuánto daño ha causado, y apoyar a los padres para que decidan la enseñanza correcta de sus hijos.
• Prometo rescatar el amor y el atractivo de la ciudad de Louisville, defender las leyes, proteger a las pequeñas empresas, alentar las grandes inversiones, combatir la burocracia y la ineficiencia de los empleados públicos, así como los gastos inútiles y los altos impuestos.
• Trabajaré para asegurar que todos tengan acceso a más oportunidades profesionales y recursos disponibles para ayudar a nuestra ciudad a recuperarse y seguir adelante con los desafíos que tenemos por delante.
La pandemia ha causado mucho daño a nuestra sociedad. La mayoría de nosotros conoce a alguien que se ha visto afectado por la pandemia, incluidas las pequeñas empresas y la economía en general. Trabajaré para mantener abiertas esas pequeñas empresas para que puedan contratar a sus trabajadores sin tener que despedirlos. Estoy comprometido a trabajar junto con las autoridades estatales y locales para garantizar la seguridad pública, especialmente en las escuelas.

Darien Barrios was born in Manzanillo, Cuba in April 1980. He attended “Martinez Tamayo Brother’s” High School in Manzanillo, Cuba. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Pedagogical Sciences, Cuba, and a Master in Science in Education, Mention in Technical and Professional Education from the University of Pedagogical Sciences, Granma, Cuba.
Darien’s professional experience includes working as a Computer Science teacher in High School, Higher and Professional Education.
He has been a member of the Kentucky Cuban-American Association and has supported the Kentucky Latino Community for the last years. He’s a member of the Parkland Baptist Church in Louisville.

Darien Barrios nació en Manzanillo, Cuba en abril de 1980. Asistió a la escuela secundaria “Hermanos Martínez Tamayo” en Manzanillo, Cuba. Obtuvo la Licenciatura en Ciencias de la Computación de la Universidad de Ciencias Pedagógicas, Granma, Cuba, y una Maestría en Ciencias de la Educación, Mención en Educación Técnica y Profesional de la Universidad de Ciencias Pedagógicas, Granma, Cuba.
La experiencia profesional de Darien incluye trabajar como profesor de informática en la escuela secundaria, educación superior y profesional.
Ha sido miembro de la Asociación Cubano-Americana de Kentucky y ha apoyado a la Comunidad Latina de Kentucky durante los últimos años. Es miembro de la Iglesia Bautista Parkland en Louisville.
